One Moment…

Truth

A picture of truth to me no filters just joy. Joy of these two miracles that I have been blessed to have in my life. The day this was taken was such a beautiful day. It was earlier that year on Mother’s Day that they surprised me.

“Hold out your hand and close your eyes” they said, I of course did with childlike anticipation. At 53 it seems I am still filled with plenty of that.

Mother’s Day had always been look what I made you, everything from noodle necklaces to clay creations that could have resembled many things “ It’s a dinosaur Mom can’t you see” yes of course I see it now.

Baked concoctions that started out as “I got this” to its a cookie with a special surprise. Mom’s not only love every flower brought to them every piece of art and all the mysterious baked items to be placed before us .

.“Well it looks delicious, I can’t wait to taste it.”

Years later as these two cuties grew up they developed a sense of what mom really liked, they knew the child deep down inside of me screaming to get out.

I love that! This particular Mother’s Day I closed my eyes and held out my hand to what they called a clue. My clue was cold and wet. I was holding an ice cube. It took me a moment, as I opened the beautiful Mother’s Day Card.

You see months before I had seen Frozen, yes a children’s movie and I loved it.

I loved the music, the message and the way it took my mind away from my troubles for even an hour.

Something fell out of the card it was ticket to see “Frozen On Ice” for all us to go and enjoy. Ah the ice, the ultimate clue for the ultimate gift but not just to see a great show. This gift as I look back was a gift of time, to spend with both of my now grown girls, a rare gift as they get busy with their own lives.

We went to see “Frozen On Ice “ that day and enjoyed the show, laughed and ate gigantic pretzels and greasy fries and sang the songs, but most of all as I look at that picture we enjoyed the moments every single one of them that day.
